Introduction
I was pregnant many years ago but didn't carry to full term. I felt that I had the ability to get pregnant, although I've put some weight on over the years and was concerned that this may impede my chances. My husband is younger than me by 10 years, so I was confident that he was not having any problems either.
Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
I was married a year and a half ago, but my husband is from India, so we spent our first year apart waiting for his visa to come here. I had hoped to conceive on our honeymoon, or last January when I went to visit him, but no success.
He finally arrived here in August and we have been trying ever since. I'd hoped to get pregnant before I turned 36 (one of those milestones, you know) but it didn't happen. I didn't think it was really happening this time, as my symptoms are the same as PMS - especially the sore breasts. I just took a test this morning and it was positive. I have to go to the doctor now to confirm, but it was pretty solid.
Charting Experience
Some of my earlier charts seemed to be all over the place, some not even having an ovulation detected, it seems to me that having regular intercourse had suddenly made things start working more normally. The last 4 or 5 charts overlayed were practically identical. So I found it was easier to calculate the days when it would be best for trying to conceive. Without the chart, I think I would probably be still waiting and wondering why it wasn't happening.
The Internet
I haven't shared much information, but I am definitely an internet-oriented person. So I actually searched online when trying to find information on conceiving. I found Fertility Friend through that search and felt that it was the best and most user friendly site. It has been a great help to me to chart every day and finally for once in my life to have a grasp on my cycle. It's always been such a mystery, but now I feel pretty confident.
Other Thoughts?
I just look forward to using the Pregnancy Tracker now since I don't know anything about it and it's a mystery! I'm starting all over with something new.
