After IUD, No Real Obvious Symptoms

Introduction
I have Factor V - so I take baby aspirin daily per my doctor's instructions. Also thanks to Factor V I had an IUD as birth control prior to TTC. Before my diagnosis I was on BCP for 7 years.

Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
My husband and I decided to begin TTC after 6 months of marriage. At first I thought we'd get pregnant right away - a number of my friends got pg their very first month trying or without trying at all. Our first month we had sex every other day, our second month we used OPKs, the third month we chose to TTA due to work circumstances if that month had been a success, our fourth month we charted, used OPK and had sex every night for a week (ouch!), our fifth month (Success)we did the same as the fourth.

By the fourth month I was feeling pretty down. TTC wasn't fun, it was emotionally draining and difficult. I was starting to feel like a failure. My husband had a baby in high school so if we weren't getting pg, it was all on me. The end of month 4 I told my husband I didn't think it would happen and I wanted to look into adoption. He was 100% on board. We started talking about where we'd want to adopt from and how we would fund things. The fifth month I'd basically decided I was okay with whatever. We tried our best all the same.

During the 2WW I still drank my normal amount of caffeine (1 cup of tea in the am and occasional cola in the afternoon), I still had a drink most nights (just one) and I took my baths. I didn't notice anything that would suggest pg. My breasts hurt, but not unlike pms, I had some cramps and while they seemed different, everything seems different in the 2WW. I was very thirsty and felt dehydrated, but we were running the furnace and that dries us out. I did break out a bit early for pms, but I break out anyhow.

I expected to "know" when it happened. I figured my boobs would instantly tell me with dark veins or dark nipples, I figured I'd have killer morning sickness. I though for sure my dog would be cuddlier or something. Nothing. I felt just like pms, only for longer than normal and without spotting. I did have a BEAUTIFUL chart - triphasic with a nice implantation dip. But charts don't get you pg.

Charting Experience
Charting was good for me because it gave me some power (or sense of power) in an otherwise powerless situation. I knew I was doing what I could and paying attention as best I could to the process. I also learned a lot about my body. I'm glad to have that knowledge.

I wasn't an ideal charter. I took some liberties. I figured as long as I did the EXACT same thing every time I was close enough. My chart still showed an obvious temp increase to show O so I figured I was doing okay.

The Internet
Google is your friend and your enemy. You can find whatever you want online - it just might not be accurate. Be careful online and don't trust everything you read.
