Introduction
Last year, when 6 months pregnant with my first child, I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. Without immediate delivery my life was in serious danger, and either way, my child was not going to survive. I delivered via c-section, and spent months regaining my health. We wanted another baby so badly, and figured getting pregnant would take no time at all - the first time around it happened the first month! This time it took 6 - we got pregnant on the 7th month. I didn't even think I was pregnant when I took the test, I did it just so I could get the disappointment over with. But, it said I was pregnant! I still have a long road in front of me, because I was also diagnosed with blood clotting disorders, which caused the HELLP and preeclampsia. I have to be anticoagulated, and under the care of several doctors. But I am hopeful, and thrilled!!
Tests, Procedures, Medical consultations
Lots and lots of time with a high risk OB, lots of blood work to determine blood clotting issues - came up with MTHFR (homogenous) and Factor V Leiden (heterogenous).
