Introduction
After 1 year of WTT we finally started trying - I was over the moon.

Tests, Procedures, Medical consultations
But as I had elevated CA125 levels, I went to have them checked again. They doubled since last test a year earlier, so I was send for FSH & LH tests. These came back very high so I was referred to a fertility clinic. That took 2 months. In the meantime my periods started becoming really irregular with some months lasting 33 - 45 days!! I started with acupuncture as I read it might help but I think all it did it made my cycles longer. At the same time I was getting really stressed at work. By then we have been trying for 5 months and nothing...

At the fertility clinic they made me repeat all the tests again and do the dye test too (which took one cycle out of trying). The FSH came back high and AMH - low. DH also went for his tests but spermies seemed to be ok. Finally, after 4 months we had the appointment with a consultant to discuss the test results and way forwad.

The dr was quite blunt - my only option was IVF. They wouldnt put me on Clomid as with my low AMH it wouldnt work! and due to my age (34) I will be fast tracked!

It was an absolute blow - we didnt expect it. I knew there is a problem and it might take longer than normal but I didnt think that my ONLY option will be IVF.

So we contacted a private dr and she prescribed 3 months of Clomid. According to her if it didnt work in 3 months there was no point in taking. It didnt work - after 3 months there was still no BFP. But what it did was regulate my cycles - they became more regular 27-33 days rather than 45!

We knew that now we have tried it all and the only option seemed to be IVF! I think I gave up thinking that next month we just have to through with IVF and then ... it happened! BFP just like that!

2 days ago my temp went down, but it went up again this morning - so I did a HPT - it's a faint line but it's a line - first time in over a year of trying.

Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
TTC became the focus and center of my life to the point of obsession.

I still cannot believe this is true and am going to test again tomorrow morning. But I also cannot believe how quickly & easily we were referred for IVF!!! If we went with it straight away as advised 4 months ago, yes, we might have been pregnant now but it would have been through IVF rather than natural.

It's a miracle, but it just shows that you should never give up hope, never stop trying. I truly understand now what they mean when they say it will happen when you relax and least expect it!

Charting Experience
I have been charting for a year when TTC. It has been great as it did allow me to learn about my body, I got to know my cycle and what should happen next - I became very aware.

The Internet
I think the Internet is a great tool to share and get info - on any topic you wish. But, at the same time, it can be a very dangerous tool with lots of info being available which might be taken out of context and it's so easy to "self-diagnose" yourself! Whether rightly or wrongly ...

Other Thoughts?
Dont give up! Also, obviously depending on the circumstances - dont just trust doctors?! Seek a second opinion, maybe give it more time?

And first and foremost - stay calm and relax, it will happen when you least expect it!
