Introduction
My husband i had been TCC as soon as we got married in Dec 2006. We intially thought it was going to be straight foward but after several months trying we realised it wasn't as easy after all. I started researching on the internet and came across FF, registered as a member and began to chart my temps six months ago. I cut down on tea and began taking follic acid. Since both of us are non drinkers and non smokers we just had to make changes in our diet. we went on a high protein diet and ate lots of fresh vegetables.
Tests, Procedures, Medical consultations
we decided we may need help after trying for a year. We were refered to a fertility specialist after a year trying. The specialist examined me and requested blood tests and sperm tests for my hubby. Everything came back clear. The next step was and HSG which I was booked to have in a week or so.
Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
For some reason this cycle was very different from the others. I had completely cut out tea (I used to take up to three cups of milky tea every day)I also passed my driving test after three attempts and a year of taking lessons which was very stressful for me, so that stress was relieved after I passed my test. My temps started out as usual but after ovulating they jumped very high. We also timed intercourse very well.
Charting Experience
I started charting in march 07. At first it was not easy because i found waking up at the same time every day difficult but I soon got the hang of it. After three months I knew that I was ovulating regularly so after that it was easy to time intercourse. Sometimes we couldn't stick to the plan because my husband was working way from home most months but as soon as he got home we got cracking.
The Internet
I enjoyed the sharing part of FF. I joined a group of UK ladies TCC and it was awesome. i can't thank FF enough for all the support I recieved.
Other Thoughts?
I would encourage any one TCC not to give up when the going gets tough. Get to know your cycle and your body by keeping a record of your temps and other fertility sighs, that way you will have a good picture of what is going on with your fertility. Timing intercourse is key to achieveing a positive pergnancy result, also healthy eating and being stress free are equally important.
