Introduction
My husband and I first tried to conceive over a year ago and we not successful. It put a bit of a strain on our relationship and made our sex life suck. All of a sudden, sex was not fun and we were under stress ourselves. My husband, although wonderful, couldn't understand I couldn't relax and just 'let things happen'. Also, all my bridesmaids, all four of them, got pregnant within that year!

Tests, Procedures, Medical consultations
We finally got in to the fertility clinic about 3 months ago. They did a semen analysis on my husband and found that he had low motility because of an undescended testicle that was corrected when he was 4. They said that I had higher FSH level, but I would still have probably conceived normally if it wasn't for my husband's slower sperm. The next month I arrived for my first IUI and was told that I had really high FSH at 13.3 for the first month they tested me and a really high 16.6 level for the current month. All at once I was told that I could look in to Donor Eggs and I had under a 10% chance of conceiving, even with IVF. At that point, I started to do some reading.

Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
Although going online is not always the best thing to do, I looked up everything I could find on high FSH levels. The best thing I could have done was order the book called 'Inconceivable'. I would recommend it to anyone who has had any issues with conceiving. Based on what I read in the book, I eliminated wheat (gluten), sugar and dairy. Plus, every day I took shots of wheat grass and drank green tea by the bucket. Knowing that I had a goal made it easier for me to stay on the diet. I realized I could eat really well with the foods. All at once, my skin cleared up and I had more energy. The next month I went in, my FSH levels had dropped to 5.9...a drop of 11 points. 'The eggs of a teenager' my doctor said, although he didn't look overly impressed. I, on the other hand, was thrilled!!!

Charting Experience
Charting really helped me learn the pattern of my cycle. When I ovulated, when my period was coming etc. I got to know my body a lot better!

The Internet
I used the internet to look up the info on FSH, but also to read feel good stories of people who conceived with this problem. There were many tips from people and so much hope. It really made a difference.

Other Thoughts?
We are newly pregnant, so I'm not getting overly excited yet (don't want to jinx it), but I've really realized what you can do with the power of food and attitude. It is amazing to me the changes that happened to my body, almost over night. Doing acupuncture also helped a lot. Don't always believe the doctors and what they say. Often, they are going on statistics, but those stats can be beaten.
