Introduction
I have wanted to be a mommy ever since I can remember. When my DH and I met, we were talking about if/when we wanted kids by our second date.
After about a year of marriage we decided to TTC. We had no idea what we were doing and, obviously, had a lot to learn. Over the next few months, we learned that it's not that easy to get pregnant.
It took us six months to get pregnant. We were so excited! I literally couldn't keep it inside that I was expecting my own baby.... So I told everyone. And I mean EVERYONE!! And I miscarried at 7 weeks 5 days.
We took a couple of months off from TTC after we lost our baby. We never expected that to happen and were heart-broken.
This was our 3rd cycle TTC after loss.... and by the grace of God... I have a BFaintP sitting in front of me as I type.
Tests, Procedures, Medical consultations
I changed Drs after my loss. I was not happy with the way things were handled and ended up going to a Natural Family Planning Specialist. He ordered up a lot of blood work since my Luteal Phase was on the short side and I was ovulating late. I was going to have another series of blood work starting CD 8. I'm not sure what they'll want to do with me now!
Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
When we started TTC we had so much to learn. I was always told that getting pregnant is so easy and that I'd better be careful or I would end up with an unplanned pregnancy. Is this just something the tell us in high school to scare us? I had no idea that there was only a 24 hour period of time in which it's even possible.
So I started to try to track O. I went on this way for 2 months; just calendar guessing. I figured out that this was not accurate and then tried OPKs.
I used them wrong for 2 months. And then finally I tried temping. We had no problems catching O and we were pregnant within 2 months of temping.
Getting pg was more difficult than I had thought, and it is full of feeling disappointed and at times like you are failing personally at something. Please, GOd, let it be over for 9 months.
Charting Experience
Well, I learned that I O late and my LP is short... which was very helpful. It was hard for me to get in the habit and do it accurately, but I'm so glad I discovered FF!
