Introduction
We already have a 12 month old daughter, and decided to start trying for baby number two. I got pregnant after 3 months of trying with our first baby, I started to chart in the 3rd month of trying and was pregnant! I am excited about the prospect of a sibling for my daughter.
Tests, Procedures, Medical consultations
I have had spotting in between periods and have had an ultrasound and pap smear test to check that all is ok, and all results have come back fine.
Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
I am still breastfeeding my daughter and only got my AF 3 months ago. Initially when thinking about trying for number 2 we thought we would just go with the flow and not use contraception, but after month one and no pregnancy (!) I couldnt help myself and started charting. I think my DH would prefer me to be more casual about it (and in some respects so would I) but this way I feel more in control of my destiny. I have just read that a luteal phase of 12 days or less could cause problems conceiving and my last luteal phase was 12 days, so this has me worried, but I will wait a few more cycles before being too concerned, and I have already conceived and had one healthy baby, so everything must be working ok!
Charting Experience
I have really enjoyed the charting experience and understanding my body and my cycles. I look forward to putting in my stats everyday and seeing where I am at. I dont like taking my BBT though as my thermometer beeps when its read my temp and that can wake up my DH. I have had issues with "rocky mtn" patterns on my chart due to waking at different times, due to getting up to my daughter who wakes anywhere from 5:30am to 7:30am. Overall I feel I am in control and have an indepth understanding of my fertility and body and am keen to logon to FF every morning.
The Internet
I use the internet to look up things related to fertility that I come across, although sometimes this is not always a good idea, as I am convinced I have something wrong with me! I havent really used the online community on FF, although I do read the stories and they give me inspiration to hear that other people are going through the same things I am.
Other Thoughts?
I wish that I was more relaxed about TTC, I dont want it to become a chore, or feel like the only time I feel like sex is to conceive! I dont want to lose the romance... Overall though I am very glad I found FF it gives me loads of details about my cycles, and I found the tutorials very informative. I wish they could tell you why you dont conceive on cycles that have perfect timing!
