Introduction
I am so excited to be here on FF. I had a tubal ligation reversal on April 22, 2008. I started charting immediately after the surgery. This next cycle I get to begin TTC. We had to go 6 weeks w/o intercourse, then we had to wait 2 more complete cycles with birth control.
Tests, Procedures, Medical consultations
We had a whole battery of test to determine if I was a good candidate for a Tubal reversal (reinostmosis.) We did find that my husbands sperm count was great but the motility was awful so he has had quite the lifestyle change in the last few months (quit, smoking, eating better, taking vitamins, and turned the hot tub down to 89.) Once we changed those things the DR said we were a go for the surgery. I have a 70% chance of sucess. Although, they were only able to reconnect one side.
Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
My parents and sisters think I should just be happy with the two kids I have, and "shouldn't get my hopes up." But if their isn't hope, what is there in life?
My church friends are super supportive and already passing down baby stuff.
My husband has been amazing, not once has he complained about making the necessary changes to his lifestyle. Even convincing him to pay for the surgery was easy (btw, $8000.) He is getting excited too... this will be his first child. Not that he would ever say that (he has helped raise my other 2 since they were 3 & 5.)
Charting Experience
Fertility charting has helped me see that I have very regular pattern. I has also helped me keep busy while waiting for the heling time to pass. My husband and I are able to go BC free most of the time, even when I wasn't able to TTC yet. Which of course has been more enjoyable for all parties involved. We have just had to make sure to use a condom on my "green" days.
Other Thoughts?
I am just really anxious to get started TTC. I hope that I am not too disappointed if it doesn't happen the first month. I am so hoping for a birthday present of a pregnancy by Aug 10.
