Introduction
I have been trying to conceive my second child for four months. My first child is 13 months now and is still partially breastfed (last thing at night only)

Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
I really wanted to have my children quite close together as I come from a large family where the age gap between siblings is small and I wanted to give that experience to my children too. I was worried at fist that I would not be able to do that because I was breastfeeding which for me seemed to be a very effective contraceptive, stopping me getting pregnant until I had virtually stopped feeding. Most info suggests that this will not be the case and that it is possible to get pregnant while feeding so it was a bit disheartning. Fortunatley I was very lucky and got pregnant almost as soon as it was possible.
Charting Experience
When we first started trying to conceive my daughter was nine months old and I was still breastfeeding first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Bcause I was charting I was able to see that I was not in fact back to full fertility even although I was having periods. Of the three periods I had one was anovulatory and in two the luteal phase was only 7 days long. I dropped the morning feed when my daughter was one year old and it would seem that full fertility returned immediately as I got pregnant that cycle.
Other Thoughts?
I am so happy to have seen a positive test this morning. hope everyone else gets to see one soon too!.
