DH and I first started TTC just before we got married on Feb 20th 1993! With no luck we started Artifical Inseminations which also didn't work. We decided to move Doc's and hosiptals and found our form of God in Dr Mac Talbot. After 5 GIFT procedures, Mac moved us to yet another hosiptal so that he could try IVF on us.

After 5 treatments we have only ever had 1 'chemical' pregnancy and still no bundle of joy.

We talked about 'adoption' and even when to some information session but found this was not for us.

We have tried the 'Baby Makers' herbal tonic for about 8 months but still no pregnancy.

We have now decided to go back to IVF using a different Doctor because of convenience of location. I also think that with fresh eyes and all....... and then new doctor resigned (GREAT!) and now have another new Doctor, have undergone a Chromosone testing to find out that I'm a girl and DH is a boy! I have recently also undergone a hysterscopy and they haven't found anything there either, so will now go back to IVF with this new Doctor but probably only once and then now onto International Adoption.

So that is where we are now, just waiting for our next IVF to come around, til then I will continue to try and work off this excess weight and hope for a miracle

So new chapter in our TTC journey is about to begin. We have decided to go down the donor sperm route and selected a friend of DH's who fortunately has agreed. We are still in the planning stage so will keep you posted.

First cycle of DIY DI with KD:
So we have now begun our journey forward, nerves are really kicking in about now. All items required have been purchased and received. Its now the waiting game for the BIG O.
So the 2ww has been on and now just about over, it has been confirmed as BFN. Now waiting for AF to show her face so that we can make a move on next cycle.

Second cycle of DIY DI with KD:
We are changing our tact this time, I have purchased some Instead Softcups to use for the insemination. I have commenced taking Vitamin B6 as well as my Folic Acid. I will be having a FSH & LH test between day 2-5 and progesterone test on day 21. Was going to start to use progesterone cream from health food store but thought I should wait until day 21 test back. So the wait is on ..............

Update:
FSH @ CD3 = 9.7 (fair)
LH @ CD3 = 4.5
PROGESTERONE @ CD21 = 39 (proving that I am ovulating and at a good amount of progesterone for my age)
Have moved away from the Instead Softcup after using it for the first time, a little difficult to place in the right spot, just laying down for a longer period after insemination. BFN on this one as well. Taking a break for Christmas and restarting in January 08

Third Cycle DIY DI January 08
After looking at what others have been doing, I think I will start using the instead cup once again, I will use it instead of the syringe and leave it in all night but add in some baby dancing at the same time, maybe letting my fingers do the walking isn't getting the job done so to speak ;)
Instead Cup worked really well this time, we baby danced after the insemination and DH and I didn't feel the cup so must have been on the right spot. I removed it in the morning with hardly any mess at all, so the TWW is on but now I have my cross hairs I am not temping otherwise it will make me want to POAS early
RESULT: BFN :(

Fourth Cycle DIY DI Feb 08 has come around really quick actually. One minute I thought it may be a bust and then next the insemination is done and we are in the 2WW. We have done the sme method as the previous month. FX. If this doesn't work soon I will have to investigate going through a clinic for IUI. - results BFN

Fifth Cycle DIY DI March 08
well its that time again, have done 1 insemination and its getting really old really fast. Results - no suprise BFN

I now have a referral to go back to my Fert Specialist but unsure if I may change to another who has helped my friend .................. still thinking about that one.

Well thought it was time to update this profile. Have been back to see my specialist who has advised us to try menevit and/or IVF again but with Blastocyst this time. However the cost is really going to bit us at $5000 before starting meds. So unsure if we can manage this. I don't think its worth seeing my friends doctor now since the cost will be the same. So we have started out on the infant adoption route but secrectly hopeing we can make a baby before that.

UPDATE: We are no longer TTC and are just focusing on the adoption side now and actually I feel alot more relaxed and don't even mind that we are no longer trying, maybe my head got sick of beating itself against a brick wall!
